Young Audiences / Arts for Learning National Conference

Building Creative Connections: The Science of Learning and the Arts

Workshop Session Request for Proposals (RFP)

YA’s national conference serves 200 participants who work for, support, or partner with the 30 Young Audiences affiliates across the country. Participants include the staff of YA affiliates; national and local affiliate board members; teaching artists, and partner teachers/administrators – a diverse group of people engaged in improving student access to arts and arts integrated learning.

In addition to plenary sessions that share the latest brain science research and the impact of the arts on brain development and learning, break-out sessions will address the theme of Building Creative Connections. These break-out sessions will address topics that are relevant to our diverse audience and highlight best practices within and outside the YA network, all in an effort to further enhance our work in the classroom AND out of the classroom. The YA Network has identified specific topics it hopes to address at the conference, listed within the RFP.

The 2012 conference will occur April 19-21, 2012 at the Four Seasons Hotel in the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD.

Please complete and return your RFP by Monday, November 14, 2011.

Maryland Historical Trust – 2012 Maryland Preservation Awards Nominations are due October 14!

Take the opportunity to congratulate someone in your community (or yourself!)

For many years the Awards were presented at the Annual Preservation & Revitalization Conference. For 2012 the Maryland Historical Trust is mixing things up a bit and presenting the Awards on January 31, 2012 in Annapolis. They have also revamped the nomination form and the Awards categories to make them simpler and more straightforward.

The change in the presentation date means that the deadline for nominations has also changed. Nominations for 2012 Awards are due October 14, 2011.
